Welcome to the Heiliger Huegel volunteer portal (built by volunteers).

How to Register for Lift Operations

Click on the ‘Volunteer Scheduling’ link in the navigation. Then click on a date in the calendar to see a list of available times to volunteer by day, week or month. Once you confirm a date, a reminder email will be sent out to you 72 hours prior to your start time. Please confirm your shift to avoid being called by shift captains.

Cancelling Your Shift

To cancel your shift, just login and click on My Sign-Ups under your name (top right). Then just click on the shift you would like to cancel and click the red “Cancel Sign-Up” button. This will notify the volunteer coordinator of your cancellation. Please cancel your shift as soon as possible.

Volunteer because of our clubs heritage

HH was founded on the principals of love of skiing, camaraderie, and a cooperative approach to running the Hill.  Our founding members could well afford staffed operations...but chose from the start to build the Club around the idea of volunteer operations.  By volunteering to run the lift, help split and stack wood, paint a building, or help out in so many other ways—you make a difference.  When your smiling face greets members at the lower lift, you get the opportunity to meet new members, see old friends, and put your own stamp on the HH experience.  Better to think about the “opportunity” it provides to be part of something special versus an attitude of ”I have to work....”

By volunteering you help make HH your Club.  You are invested here because you helped build that decking, or plant those trees, or paint that HH logo for all to see. If you need any more motivation, consider our wonderful, dedicated crew of ski patrollers—all volunteers—who contribute 30-60 hours per year (or more) for safe skiing at our Hill.  They have jobs, kids and lives just like we all do—yet they make the time for each of us.

The Board often talks about wanting HH to be part of your family’s legacy—not a transactional thing for a few years. Maintaining a sense of pride about HH and feeling an esprit d’ corps is something we hope all members appreciate and strive for.  What we belong to was conceived of 85 years ago—and it has provided countless hours of unique simple, rustic enjoyment of our great terrain and fellowship. Let’s guard carefully the things that make us who we are, distinct from most every other Club, by embracing our commitment to helping our fellow members enjoy HH.

The Board certainly understands that lives are complicated, more so now than ever. Every family is required to work 2 evening shifts or one day shift. If your schedule doesn’t allow for supporting lift operations you can buy out of this year’s work duty, or volunteer in some other meaningful way.  We have tried this year to provide a modern tool and process to facilitate lift operations scheduling—please use it to schedule (with pride) your (and your spouse’s) work duties.
